Game: Dixit

Overview:
First of all, the game mechanics are interesting. A game with a cooperative and social feel, where you share a "story" about one of your cards and then everyone picks one of their cards that fits the storyteller's description. Then everyone votes on which card they think belonged to the storyteller instead of the other listeners. The way you earn points encourages you to be creative (no points if everyone guesses your card because you made it too easy), without being off the wall impossible (also fail to earn points if no one guesses your card). But since you can earn points for fellow listeners accidentally selecting your card instead of the storyteller's card, you have incentive to pick really well matched cards for the voting process.
The Good:
The card graphics are stunning, creative and sometimes quirky. They evoke emotions, and I'd want to own the game just for the artwork! This is the first game I've owned or played that I thought deserved sleeves!
The Bad:
Some people may have a hard time finding a middle-of-the-road story/clue. And frankly, a (very) few cards I saw would have left me stumped as a storyteller.
The Verdict: Purchase
I found myself wanting an expansion pack for more cards on the very first night of play! My friends didn't want to stop playing so we just kept shuffling. But the more unique cards the better!
iOS: iDixit
I truly hope the expansio cards are made available on the iOS in the near future. I love the idea of being able to play this online. I have even played this on iOS devices with people in the same room, and it works well. There is not an iPad version, but the images are still amazing on the iPad.

Expansions:
I purchased Dixit 2 and was disappointed in the artwork compared to Dixit 1. The artwork didn't seem to evoke as much emotion, or have the same depth and quirkiness of the original deck. I hesitantly purchased Dixit Odyssey, even more afraid since the main artist for the deck had changed. I am very glad I purchased it. Not only does the box hold all three decks, and has a better scoreboard and can handle up to 12 individual players now, but the artwork is better than Dixit 2. I think it's almost as good as the original. But the best part is the three decks combined works great. The Dixit 2 cards seem more playable, or less noticeable, now. Our first triple deck game had a lot of "oh I have so more than one card that would fit that story perfectly!" moments. I highly recommend this expansion.
So my rank is Dixit 1 is the best, Dixit Odyssey is a close second, and Dixit 2 comes in third. Overall, any way you play it, I adore this game.
P.S. All three decks, sleeved in MayDay Dixit sleeves, do fit in the Dixit Odyssey box. It's a tight fit, and the sleeve corners get a little bent, but the cards do not get bent. The cards overflow the card wells, but the score board fits over the three wells to keep the cards from traveling all over the box. There is also room for the bunnies and voting squares from original Dixit.
