Moving Past the Small Block Between Ideology and Cash

I really wanted to connect, somehow, the games Ideology: The War of Ideas and Imperial 2030. They both involve two major non-governmental forces that influence the way governments govern (I am not so cynical as to believe humans in power are no longer effected by ideals.) I had all but scrapped the idea, thinking about it in the back of my mind, because I thought it would be too messy and difficult to combine the point structures while giving the games equal weight.

Turns out the solution was incredibly simple. DUH! I decided I'd award each finishing place in the respective games a certain amount of points. Even this I tried to complicate, at first. I had weird point values, like 39 for first place, 25 for second, etc. because I wanted to ensure that certain place combinations could beat other place combinations. I went through several iterations of point combinations before simply inverting the placement and subtracting one (1=5, 2=4, 3=3, 4=2, 5=1, 6=0.) I like the idea that first place is not so special. First place is just a little bit better than second place. Of course, if you get first place again and again, you get to be the Roo and the Pasha.

For the time being, the top two scorers will get to advance. It may be, because I may want to get more games into the tournament, that there will only be one winner between the two games in the end. We shall see.
