Last Friday just Richard joined us. He requested Dorn as his first game, so we pulled that out, with me as dungeonlord, and Sami taking two characters. I amassed creatures in the central room, while the heroes wandered round the outskirts picking up a few treasures and artifacts, then headed my way. My creatures came out en masse and did lots of damage to both of Sami’s heroes. The party started retreating, down two separate tunnels, but I played a cave-in behind the group of three heroes that included Sami’s two and one of Richard’s, and that proved to be fatal for the group. Richard had a card that allowed his hero to escape, but both of Sami’s heroes died. The remaining three heroes regrouped, regained their health and tried again, but I had too many monsters and was able to keep the central room filled for three turns for the win.

Next we pulled out another dungeon game, Cutthroat Caverns. Not tried this before with 3, and it did lose something – I think I’ll only play it with 4 or 5 in future. After that we were on the look-out for another theme-high game, and pulled out Galaxy Trucker. Lots of carnage as we flew through space, and the last round in particular my ship got blown to smithereens, but the remaining small part was remarkably beautiful, and winning the most beautiful ship bonus was enough to give me the game over Sami.

We were all tired after that, so finished with a couple of lighter fillers – first Metro, which was new to Richard, and then 7 Wonders, where we were able to stop Richard’s Mausoleum B Science strategy getting too out of control, but Sami seemed to get far too many points in every category and got a huge score!
