Last Friday there were just 4 of us. Sami and I started the evening with a few hands of Mhing while waiting for the others to show up. Then we got out Chinatown, which we haven’t played for ages, and is on our trade pile, but we were happy to play again. Marion and Richard struggled with the trading a bit at first, but Marion got a really good start, and was very lucky throughout with her building locations; however late game the extra experience and Sami’s skill at trading started to show.

After this we wanted something familiar, so pulled out Puerto Rico – Marion got an amazing corn strategy going, while Sami bought every building in row 3 except for the University; meanwhile I had a fairly standard factory/harbour strategy, but didn’t get quite enough shipping points or enough cash for a large building. Sami won, but Marion managed to beat me and placed second, despite being blocked out of the ships for the second half of the game.

Next we played “Golden Wonder" (7 Wonders), Marion’s new name for the latest hit game. Next came Ugg-Tect, a recent MathTrade acquisition. It’s very silly and fun, involving hitting your partner over the head with an inflatable club, while saying nonsense words as instructions – Ugungu, Agundu, Kahinda Kahinda..... Lots of laughs and definitely a keeper!

We had just under an hour left, and we were still in the mood for something silly, so went for Time's Up! Title Recall! – the Title Recall edition as it’s quicker, and also more accessible for younger players. We rolled for teams and it was Khans vs Carpenters. Richard found himself at a slight disadvantage in the first round, not recognising as many cards, but made up for it in later rounds, but sadly it wasn’t enough to catch the lead Sami and I had built up in that first round.
