It has been busy two weeks with lots of stressful things going on, but some neat things too.

A friend of mine had a small get-together a week ago, and she had found a game that we had designed when we were 11 years old. And it was amazing!

Ok, I do have to admit that the game does have some similarities with the game board of Cluedo...

Anyhow, in our game you are supposed to first enter a small town buying stuff like shoes and predictions from a clairvoyant, or go to the bank to get more money etc. Once you have visited all the stores in that town you can proceed to a huge manor where the rest of the game takes place. I think the goal was to find some sort of secret in that house.

The most impressive thing about the game was a chart of drops which slowly got filled up. If that happened, you're game was over. To prevent this you had to use the toilets in the town or in the manor. What a silly idea

It was fun to see that forgotten gem that we had spend hours and hours making and play testing as a child. The game had careeples which we made by ourselves to be used in the town and once you got to the manor you parked your car to the parking lot and continued with your meeple from that point on. I still remember how much fun we had making all those components.

My boyfriend had a birthday last week and I got him Small World Underground as a present.(Sort of vested interest I suppose...)He also got Letters from Whitechapel from a friend of ours and that really surprised him. And now after reading the rumors about Nexus' demise, maybe it was the eleventh hour to get it.

Of course we had to try Underground at once. We played with 5 players with one who had never played Smallworld. And it was a blast! Everyone was excited about the new races and the relics etc. And the birthday boy seemed to be satisfied with his present.

We got to try Whitechapel few days later without the optional rules and we got Jack before the 4th night.

Yesterday we met some friends who had just started to get interested in board games so I'm looking forward to introduce some of our games to them. They have Carcassonne and I heard they liked Dominion so I know I don't have to explain why most of our games aren't roll-and-move based.

Needs photos. I know a 11-y.o. designed game won't look that spectacular, but I definitely want to see it!
