Playing another enjoyable game of Blitzkrieg Commander, my badly outmanoeuvred British Western Desert Force achieved the unexpected and turned the flank of the Afrika Korps.
A few dice rolls later, and three of my clunky, rusty old A10 cruiser tanks landed three hits on an already damaged Panzer III. Now, if this panzer brews up, the Germans need to start checking their morale and I'm in sight of beating the Afrika Korps for the first game in ages.
The only way the Germans can avoid their shot up panzer being destroyed, triggering those morale tests, is to save all the hits by rolling three sixes on three six-sided dice.
"Victory shall be mine!" I think at the very moment the Germans roll three sixes. Oh. So the panzer survives.
I'm sure bright spark can tell me the chances of three sixes being rolled on those three dice.
And do you have a similar tale from a game? I'm all ears for other people's bad luck
(Don't be too sad for me however, the happy ending for me saw the Afrika Korps break a few turns later ... After knocking out a whopping eight of my A13 cruiser tanks.)
