U.S. publisher Fantasy Flight Games has unveiled its anticipated release schedule for December 2011, most of which has already been announced on the FFG website. Here's an overview of what's coming, with more details on the individual game pages linked to below:

Standalone Games
-----Cold War: CIA vs KGB – reprinted in a tiny box with a $12 pricetag
-----Kingdoms – reprinted in a larger box with plastic castles and a wizard tile previously available only at conventions

Dust Tactics Mother Lode
-----Dust Tactics: "Corps Officers" - Heavy Rangers Command Squad
-----Dust Tactics: "Heavy Kommandotrupp" - Schwer-Sturmgrenadiere Command Squad
-----Dust Tactics: Operation "Cerberus"
-----Dust Warfare: Core Rulebook – a new rule system for using existing and future miniatures in the Dust Tactics line

Other Expansions for Existing Games
-----Mansions of Madness: Forbidden Alchemy – described on the sell sheet as "[t]he first boxed expansion for Mansions of Madness"
-----Sid Meier's Civilization: The Board Game - Fame and Fortune – adds components for a fifth player along with four new civilizations
-----Tannhäuser: Matriarchy Troop Pack

Expansions for Living Card Games
-----A Game of Thrones: The Card Game - On Dangerous Grounds
-----Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game - Into Tartarus
-----The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game - Khazad-dûm – a large expansion with nine new encounter sets that set up the forthcoming "Dwarrowdelf" cycle of Adventure Packs
-----Warhammer: Invasion - City of Winter

Oh, and let's not forget this little number:

FFG had only a cover image of this new edition of Nexus Ops in its December 2011 solicitation information with no sell sheet, so I'm not sure what's been changed, if anything, and how much this little bit of excitement will sell for. More details when I have them – or watch the FFG site for an announcement...

Knowing the game only from pictures, I believe it was the same size as the latest editions of Citadels, Colossal Arena, Condottiere. Seeing the new square format, I assumed it would actually be quite larger, the size of the current edition of Through the Desert.

Yes, but which size exactly? Through the Desert size or more like the Kingsburg expansion? The former seemed to be the more logical choice, but the box looks proportionally too thin.

Although the photo looks like a large box, it is just a deck of cards and a couple of tokens...

Fantasy Flight Game is pleased to announce the upcoming release of Cold War: CIA vs KGB! This updated reprint of the popular two-player card game features clarified rules, more compact components, and a smaller, more portable box (4½” x 4½”, as also seen in Hey, That’s my Fish!).

It's probably more like the new Hey, That's My Fish!, which is a lot smaller than the new Through the Desert.

I'm assuming the new CIA vs KGB is goign to be Mr Jack Pocket sized, considering it is smaller than the already small Silver Line series and has a $12 price point.

HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!... excuse my French, but those were the exact words to escape my mouth.

Never saw that one coming. I'm betting FFG will make a great job with the reprint. It's nice to see this coming back and into the hands of all those that already love the game and for those that have yet to discover this great design.

I can't speak from personal experience, but in this news item on the Heidelberger site, the publisher/distributor says the following about a release in Germany: "Die englische Ausgabe der Erweiterung Fame and Fortune wird vorraussichtlich ab diesem Winter erhältlich sein. Die deutsche Umsetzung wird möglichst bald danach erfolgen." So "as soon as possible", whatever that means in practical terms...

The more important thing about the Nexus Ops announcement is that somebody managed to claw an IP out of the hands of Hasbro. That should shine a little hope for the Heroscapers out there, among others.

I'm pretty sure Leonardo da Vinci takes the cake on that one... Eternally at $9.99 from CSI and somehow they always have 20+ copies.

I'll second the remarks from Darren M. I said the exact phrase when I saw the picture. Funny, only yesterday morning did I pull Nexus Ops from my shelf and prep it for this weekend. While doing so, I thought, "WOTC are a bunch of numbskulls for not keeping this title is print." Way to go FFG. Way to go!

That's my wish, too. I already own the game, but I could use some better artwork, illustrated cards, acrylic crystals for rubium and, of course, a much better monolith. The one thing I don't want them to change a bit is the miniatures. However, although it may be just "artistic liberty", the new cover suggests otherwise, as the creatures look very different. Notice the long tail of the Rubium Dragon, for example. Maybe FFG didn't get the original molds in the deal, for whatever reason. I trust them to make great new miniatures if they must, but I hope they at least make them translucent, which is an extremely cool feature and "trademark" of the original game.

I am AMAZED FFG could wrest the rights to produce the Nexus OPS game from Hasbro!

I hope they use those fabulous neon day-glow color plastic. They look so awesome and sci-fi-licious!

On a REALLY positive note, I had been hesitant to rip open an extra copy of the game to make a mega-Nexus OPS hex game- now I will gleefully use it to create that 2-game map I have been wanting to do!
