Bobby's Games

I will be posting monthly recaps of my gaming which I have been doing in GeekLists. I'll also be commenting on games on occasion, though I can tell you that I will be behind the curve because I just don't get to play the new games as soon as some people do.

I've decided to make a game of the week for my Saturday group. The thought (yes, I do think on occasion) behind the idea is to come up with a game I own which I want to get played. It might not be the best game I own, but it will be something I want to get to the table. A couple of weeks ago, I managed to play Patrician and To Court the King, which are a couple of games I had wanted to play again.

This week's game is Viva Pamplona!.

This one is not about finishing first, but finishing just before the bull reaches the arena, and for the courage shown during the run by staying as close to the bull as possible.

It is not a deep game, but it is fun and handles up to six players. We've had some new people attending and this would make a good starting or closing game for the day.

Great game! One of Kramer's best. Be sure to play with 5-6 players. We always rotate the start player after each Toro turn. We also probably play a house rule around the safety zones - where no points are awarded for being on or in front of a raging Toro.

Have fun!

Thanks, Kevin! I had forgotten about rotating the first player.
