My other "best of" lists. Feel free to comment or disagree!

1999: http://boardgamegeek.com/blogpost/403/my-top-10-games-of-199...
2007: http://boardgamegeek.com/blogpost/395/my-top-10-games-of-200...
2011: http://boardgamegeek.com/blogpost/225/my-most-anticipated-ga...

1994 was not a good year for games. This is a list of what I could cobble together as I really don't play these games any more. Lots of dead CCGs populate the list. When I saw the top ranked game from this year (RoboRally) I knew I was in trouble. I really don't like that game. This is a very sad moment for me. Just 3 games on it, and none of them great.

Since I cannot come close to a "Top 10" I will ask BGGers to make recommendations. There are a few good 18XX games from that year and some other interesting games. The "list":

1994

1. Loco! A simple, fun Knizia card game. I am happy to play this any time.

2. Kingdoms Another simple Knizia game. This one recently received a Beowulf retheme. I used to play on BGG but not in the last several years.

3. UNO Hearts A fun hearts variant (even though its UNO).

4. That's it. That's all I got. Wow. So what are your suggestions?

I agree that 1994 isn't a strong year although I do like Roborally. Two games that I would add are:

Manhattan
We the People

Great suggestions. I couldn't put either in my list because I haven't had a chance to play either game. I'd really like to play We the People....

I'm the Boss and Intrige. I hadn't realized that both of these great negotiation-screwage games came out so long ago, and in the same year.

Agree about Loco.

An den Ufern des Nils is from '94, and we still play it a couple times a year. It's a pretty good game.

I also have Auf Heller und Pfennig, the '94 version of Kingdoms. That was my first Knizia game, but I had no idea who that was at the time. I also didn't realize I'd end up owning over 100 of his games!
