Bargains in The Works (UK)

I popped into our local The Works yesterday and was surprised and pleased to find some Rio Grande games wedged in between the tat. For those who don't know, The Works is a book remainder chain, but branches out into stuff like arts, crafts, and games from time to time. Up until now, I've only ever seen kid's games in there, but walked out with a copy of Oregon for a bargain price of £7.99.

Other games in my local shop (Worthing) were Ponte del Diavolo, Strozzi, and Ming Dynasty. Checking through BGG when I got home, I think I chose the right game for me in Oregon. But as they were all £7.99, I'd have been happy to try any of them.

So the moral of the story is, when you get out to start your Christmas shopping, pop into The Works in case you can get yourself a little treat on the cheap.

(And no, I don't work for The Works; usually I find it a pretty dreadful shopping experience, but these things can change if I can pick up a cheap game there...).
