SJack wrote:
The first time you play you are taken straight into a tutorial.
It has online multiplayer with Gamecenter (i doubt it is asynch due to the real-time nature of the game) and local bluetooth support.
It's free to download and you get 3 brawl decks. There are three more to download as IAP at £1.49 each
There is single player support against an AI
Original Artwork as you can see.
Universal app.

Gah!

Another one?!?! It looks like my "Awesome GeekList of Upcoming Games" is pretty much getting stealthed right and left.

DL'ed this last night... "meh"

It would be nice to know that the initial bout is a tutorial. You just get thrown into it w/o really knowing what's going on. The frequent pop-ups are a little counter-intuitive to the quick flow of the game too.

Personally, I'd MUCH rather drop .99 for Button Men, which is a far superior game/app despite not being updated for almost 2 years.

Long time Brawl player...

Perl (most powerful deck), Bennett (strong, but Perl is still better) and Darwin (medium) are in-app purchases for $1.99 each. I would have gone for them if they were $.99 each.

I'd also love to see an updated Buttonmen, with iPad support, Gamecenter etc.

(sorry, first couple of games were ok but quickly became repetitive).
Are we ok with online multiplayer crashing? Nope.
Please fix to give this app some hope!

Just got word from the developer of Button Men and they will be submitting an update to Apple next week. No idea what the update contains other than bug fixes.

I emailed the devs of Button Men last week, after a I bought it and discovered that it doesn't run on IOS5. They told me it would be updated within two weeks to fix that issue, and they were planning on updating it with more content in the near future.

To get back on topic, I grabbed Brawl today. I never played the "real" game before, but I really enjoyed the IOS version. I taught my sister how to play and we played some local bluetooth matches. Lots of fun, and more depth than I expected.

That's great news. Button Men is a gem, but it would become a top-shelf app with a little nudge (more buttons, leaderboards, etc.).
