First up: new prototype for Just in Time! I've decided to merge the hexes into the board so that I can keep the hex numbers orderly and easier to find while time traveling, but I'm still keeping the city modular via large chits that will depict the individual buildings which will be placed on the hexes. Here's a pic of the board prior to being filled with chits, cards and such:
I've also increased the size of the timeline cards to make more room for additional events and other little tid-bits that'll likely be placed on them. I've already ordered some wooden discs, so now I just need to acquire some chipboard and reprint the components (and of course assemble everything). Hopefully I'll have a nice prototype ready to play within a week or so.
Secondly: A package has arrived and is awaiting my arrival back home! This contains a couple of new games, a bunch of sleeves and a present for my secret santa! Mine has been a bit difficult to work with, so I ended up getting one game off of their wishlist (A Few Acres of Snow) and will be including some other games that I, uh... have access to.

Speaking of secret santa, I've yet to hear from mine
New Games: The games that came in today are Elder Sign and JAB: Realtime Boxing, both of which I'm pretty excited to try out. I played Arkham Horror once with some friends and while it is an interesting game, it just takes far too long to accomplish what it sets out to. I'm hoping that Elder Sign will make for a nice streamlined Arkham without sacrificing too much of the game. As for Jab, my sis is a big fan of Egyptian Ratscrew and this one has a lot of the elements of that game, but looks more interesting and polished. I also think that Jab will be a lot of fun to play with the wife and kidos.
Sleeves! New sleeves are always nice, especially with the next expansion to Nightfall in the works. I'll be starting on the mathy end of the expansion next week, where I create all of the chain colors and arrange them for the new cards. Then I'll work on populating the card effects, taking into account all of the existing cards so that I'll know how frequently a card is to kick and what effects can kick into / out of the new cards. That last bit can make creating new effect particularly challenging.
Game Night Poll: Last, but not least, I'll also be picking up the pace on the game night poll website that I've started to work on. The end goal is to provide gaming a groups a place to nominate and vote on games that everyone wants to play at their next gathering. I've been running a private version of the site for a particular group who has given a ton of great feedback that I'll be using to make an improved version for the public site. I'll be sure to post here as I make progress.
Wish me luck!
