I'm watching the 1990's Flash TV series as I type this, so attribute any lapses on my part to astonishment at the craptacular effects. This post is a simple life update, nothing too intense or meaningful.

I'm back from camp and actually feeling a bit re-energised. Unexpectedly, I had a great experience - the kids were great (which I pretty much expected - I'm their Year Adviser and I've fostered them fairly well, to blow my own trumpet), the activities were fun, the gym was open for basketball, the Christian Camp Leaders refrained from being pushy and the leeches stayed away. Not much more I could ask for, really.

I've secured a government grant for the school to encourage the use of Interactive Whiteboards in our classrooms, so I now have yet another drain on my gaming time. I really need to get out of this whole 'working' thing. Bob's got the right idea.

I played a really good game and a really lame one last night. The good one was Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (3rd Edition). This was my first actual play and the game held up to the hype and my own personal excitement over it. Fantasy Flight has done something right by me once again.

The lame one was Heroes Incorporated. What a waste of a half-decent concept. The combination of uncompelling theme with generic mechanics and repetitive gameplay made it a fairly snoozish affair.

Avery and I built the new LEGO Ninja Ice Dragon today. It's so unfathomably awesome:

Finally, while I'm not writing anything down (because it would violate the rules), I am thinking about what to do for my entry to this year's 24 hour RPG contest. Obviously I can't say too much, but expect 118 character archetypes.

Tomorrow; GURPS Supers with Benj and the crew. Last session was the first that has had me interested in a very long time, so I'm looking forward to its continuation. To cut a long story short; I'm a Russian noble and artist, hosting a charity Christmas gala for the elite of St. Petersberg. Personal dramas are taking place for two members of my team. Then a big armoured Scorpion monster from the first few sessions of the campaign burst in through the door. Did I mention I have no combat powers?

I won't make any specific guesses about your 24-hour project but I suspect it's possible that They Might Be Giants has already provided the theme song.

The GURPS Supers campaign sounds really cool and that dragon is made of awesome. And Legos. And awesome.

Did you play with the expansion for Heroes Inc? I think it makes it a lot better.

So I've heard, but I can't say I'm excited to give it another go... Does it alter the mechanics, or introduce any variation to the reptitive cards?

I'd like to apologise for today's session just not delivering like last time. I feel like I really fumbled today.
Not a happy Benj.

No apology needed - I think a lot of it came from people initiating a 2.5 hour combat with a creature who was peacefully being led away without danger... Sigh.

Well, I was intending for him to freak right out once he was close enough to the doors to see what lay beyond, so that would have led to biffo too.
It really shouldn't have taken me so bloody long though. As Rhi pointed out, I just let these huge lulls happen when I really should have been moving straight from one action to another.
