Indie RPG News Bits: More 3:16 Coming, Bully Pulpit Quarterly Figures, Vincent Baker Games On Sale

Gregor Hutton is working on two new sourcebooks for 3:16: Carnage amongst the Stars. AD 316 is a historical version set in the Roman Empire, while Carnage Among The Tribes is a fantasy version that will be published in partnership with Cubicle 7 Entertainment. No release dates as yet, but stay tuned.

Bully Pulpit Games (the publisher of Fiasco) has joined Evil Hat Productions (publisher of The Dresden Files Roleplaying Game) in sharing a detailed breakdown of their quarterly RPG sales. The figures are available here:

* Q3 2011 sales figures for Bully Pulpit

As expected, Fiasco and Fiasco Companion are the biggest sellers, but somewhat surprisingly the sales are coming mostly from IPR's web sales, convention stalls, and retail distribution service. PDF sales via OneBookShelf make up most of the balance.

Evil Hat's sales figures for the same quarter are here:

* Q3 2011 sales figures for Evil Hat

With the increasing popularity of The Dresden Files, Evil Hat is now making the majority of its sales through retail distribution to bricks and mortar and online gaming stores.

In these reports, IPR refers to hardcopy and PDF sales from Indie Press Revolution, Distro / Distribution refers to hardcopy retail sales through conventional distributors such as Alliance, e23 refers to PDF sales through Steve Jackson Games, Lulu refers to print-on-demand sales through Lulu.com, and OBS refers to PDF sales from OneBookShelf, the umbrella company for the merged RPGNow and DriveThruRPG. BPG and EHP Store refer to sales direct from the publishers.

*
To celebrate all of the awards won by Apocalypse World during 2011 (including the 2011 Golden Geek RPG of the Year), Vincent Baker has put the Apocalypse World PDF on sale until the end of the year. The sale price of $10 gets you the core rulebook plus all six of the limited edition playbook PDFs. This deal is exclusive to the un-store and ends on December 31st.

* The much anticipated print version of the two player RPG-cum-gamebook Murderous Ghosts is now available for preorder. Preorders receive the Murderous Ghosts MC Book, the matching Murderous Ghosts Player Book, and a PDF bundle containing both books in various formats. If you're not familiar with the game, it's like a monstrous hybrid of Apocalypse World and Duel Master.

* Old news for most but new to me is the Lumpley Games $25 bundle. The bundle contains PDF versions of Apocalypse World (plus some LE playbooks), Dogs in the Vineyard, Poison'd, Kill Puppies for Satan, In a Wicked Age, and the Lego miniatures game Mechaton: Giant Fighty Robots.

So don't make it a waste by not going to geekworld-online.com! Granted, not much there yet, but it's less than a week old and growing!

Yup, I may find myself in the "getting Apocolypse World" boat as well, now.

Awesome stuff. PDF sales are so bad for me because I already own more than I could read in a year, and incredibly good content keeps coming along cheap.
