interesting read, however, I thought I read that Loyang actually came before Agricola, not the other way round (yes, Loyang was published later) but I believe the sowing mechanism used in Loyang was featured in Uwes concept for Loyand and then later tweaked and refined for Agricola. I'm buggered if I can remember where I saw/read that though

Fascinating! I'd love to know where you read that if you can dig it out. If it's true, the obvious next question (to me) is how/why Agricola got published first. Was it considered easier/more accessible? Or was it simply happenstance?

Thanks for reading and taking the trouble to post.

I think it was an online article discussing one or the other, and I think they quoted Uwe as saying that mechanism used in Loyang was the seed of what was to come in Agricola. I guess designers often have different things in mind, perhaps the actual mechanic there was down but he refined it for Agricola, and then later on, maybe buoyed by his success went back and completed Loyang? I am not doing anything more than speculating, hopefully I can find the link to the thing I read

cool article anyway, thanks for sharing!

Hi guys, could it be that the information you are talking about comes from this interview with Uwe Rosenberg? (from 2008/10/20)

http://jogoeu.wordpress.com/2008/10/20/interview-with-mr-uwe...

(Check Q/A JE 14).
