Day 12 and the December Challenge is still going strong. Tonight it was my daughter's turn to select a game and she picked one she plays quite well: Ra: The Dice Game

Ra: The Dice Game was a gift from my 2010 BGG Secret Santa.
This game has really hit the sweet spot for me. A nice quick medium-light weight game with tons of decisions and different paths to victory. One of Knizia's best. This is our 12th recorded play on BGG.

The first epoch saw me gain 14 points to add to my 10 start points. I won pharaohs, added some points in the Nile and didn't lose in Civs. My son started with 14 points and added 7 more, 5 from 3 Civs, to get to 21 points. My daughter started with 12 and added a whopping 10 points from the Nile. She lost two for having the fewest Pharaohs for 20 total but was sitting pretty with the River points. Melissa brought up the rear adding 6 points to her starting 11 for 17 points total.

The next epoch saw my daughter vault to the lead with 12 river points. My son managed 11 points, while I only managed 8 because I didn't flood and Melissa got only 4 points total. Total after 2 epochs: Daughter 37, Son and Larry 32, Melissa 21.

Melissa finally made a move the final round as she scored the most points in the round. It wasn't enough to get her out of 4th place. To her 12 river points, my daughter was able to add another 12 pyramid points to capture the victory.

Final Scores: Daughter 59, Larry 53, Son 50, Melissa 44.

My Daughter's win was not a fluke as she has won the previous 3 games as well.
