Today was a busy day. The kids had a basketball game then we went to Georgia to celebrate Christmas with Melissa's dad. We got back late but still had time for a quick game. It was Melissa's turn to pick and she chose Pickomino.

Pickomino is simple to learn, easy to understand and there is no real way to target an opponent. This makes it a nice filler for the family. I rate it a 7 and this is our 17th recorded play on BGG.

The kids jumped out to an early lead as both son and daughter captured a 30+ tile. Melissa and I went scoreless the first few turns as we were either unable to get to the minimum score level of 21 or to roll any worms that would allow us to capture a tile.

Soon though, the kids begin to have some trouble, losing tiles back to the board or having them stolen by others. Son went from three captured tiles to zero, while daughter went back down to one. The game stayed close for a while but then daughter and I started to pull away a bit.

When the game ended, it was clear that daughter had the most tiles, but did she have the most worms? Yes, she did.

Final scores: Daughter 9, Larry 6, Melissa 4, Son 2.
