Tonight we were under no pressure to play a quick game so I chose one that was a bit longer, Zooloretto.
Zooloretto is the big brother of Coloretto. You are attempting to fill your zoo with animals and vending stalls. You gain points by having a full zoo, but lose points by having animals with no pen in which to display them. I rate it an 8 and this is our 10th recorded play on BGG.
Everyone knew how to play so we were setup and playing within a few minutes. I went for Pandas, Elephants and Flamingos early. The Pandas proved to be problematic as I couldn't get more of them. I soon had Kangaroos and Cheetahs in my barn, fortunately Son bought the Cheetahs to stock his own zoo. Son was able to expand his zoo early in the game and quickly gained coins from filling his pens. This allowed him to purchase needed animals from other players.
Daughter was able to breed her animals for a few babies, which I think is her favorite part of the game. She spent a lot of coins moving Kangaroos from her barn to her pen.
Melissa was doing something, but I don't think she was running a zoo. At one point it seemed that she had more animals in her barn than on display.
The game ended with 3 pretty good zoos and a pasture with a few animals in it.
Final Scores: Son and Larry 25, Daughter 22, Melissa 14.
(Technically I won the tiebreaker because I finished with 3 coins to son's 1 but there was an early mistake that may have affected the coin amount, so we just called it a tie. Plus, ties should go to the children anyway.)
