Magneheeli's handmade wooden pawns and figurines

Here is a collection of wooden pawns, figurines and custom game pieces I have carved.. I wouldn't say I'm fed up with all the pewter and plastic miniatures out there, but it's time to try something new! Wood is such a "warm and friendly" material...quite unlike plastic in a certain sense. Children's toys and nice kitchen accessories are meant to be made of wood. I want to play with that subtle intuition and carve little monsters and bad guys! Taking pictures of 30mm wooden figurines is a frustrating thing. The texture makes them seem to be rather rough, unclean and unfinished. It's really hard to catch the surface as it really is.
