Got my copy of girl genius in today, can only hope dude got pirate fluxx in the mail today as well.
man this game looks sweet, simple rules, and im a fan of the comic and art. i like the spinning thing. reminds me of a game i tried to buy the IP for few years back, ZG. Never mention that game to me please. angry

got nightfall in the mail from amazon, not a trade per say...but i did trade money for it. Haven't opened it. still in shrink. might trade it. don't ask,yes i know i just bought it, yes i know i haven't played it, but i have a lot of stuff on my plate.

sent drakon 3rd and give me the brain off today for three games....damn i can't remember which ones....one sec....

ok, these...
1. Anima: Shadow of Omega
2. Citadels
3. Rune Age

started going over the rules to help play test utopian conflict. printed out a bunch of cards and cut them up, backed them, etc. hope to get this down to a science soon...but i know myself better than that.

sent my invoice for consulting fee for working on healing blade too. that was cool, i've decided to work on it some more for free though. i think the game has good roots just needs to be tweaked. the online version they are making is coming along decent too. i think its ultimate goal is for ipads and such.

if anyone can explain math trades in simple english to me, i would love that. i hope to run one to get rid of some stuff i have and was just given. plus i have nothing but time on my hands, so i can make it run as smoothly as i can.

Math Trades:

bunch of people submit their list of games they want to get rid of to a list

Everyone who submitted a game checks the list and says, I'm willing to get rid of game X, if I get any of the following games back in return (all picked from that list of course).

They do this for each game.

Some program is run on that data and it figures out the most optimal way to get everybody something in return for something. Often it's a circle trade. For example, I'd give game X to dude 1. Dude 1 gives game Y to dude 2. Dude 2 gives game Z to dude 3. Dude 3 gives the game I want to me.

Also, here's congress of gamer's description:
http://www.congressofgamers.org/commerce.php

And more nitty gritty:

the data you submit to list organizer is simple #s. Each game in the geek list has a number. You find the #s of the games you submitted. Let's say I submitted #s 6, 7 and 8. Then you find the #s of the games you want in exchange for the games you'll be submitting and you put those after your game #s.

6 10 11 13
7 10 11
8 50 80 22

In this case I said, I want to receive games 10, 11, or 13 if I give away item 6. And notice how I have different game #s for each of my games. Tho, in the case of game 7 I said I'd like to get 10 or 11 for it. Perhaps I care a little bit more about game 7 or it's value so I left out #13. And perhaps #8 is worth a different price to me, so I only included 50, 80 and 22. But it depends. I might say, "ok I'll give away this cheap game, and sure I don't mind receiving that really expensive game in return". And that's usually how I build my list.

Running a MT to get rid of your own stuff doesn't sound very efficient. Just wait until one comes along (usually every month or two), or prod/coerce/bribe someone who has already run a general MT in the past to do another one.

Definitely participate in a few MT's before you try to run one.
