Well I had typed up some shit but this fuckig phone and/or web page freaked and I lost it. So. New assassin creed, yay.

Plying Dom species with group from last week, playing correctly and giving it its fair play. I've already snuck 20 cubes back into my bag. It's a neat game, I guess? I just don't care about it. I think it's fixing to be my turn in the domination phase. Got to go.

AC:R was fun, but a step back from Brotherhood. The new elements range from practical but boring (hookblade) to so painful that they made it entirely avoidable (den defense)

Most egregious was the lack of The Truth puzzles. The Desmond levels were not a good substitute.

One of the funniest things I saw regarding the second aspect of your post was:

"now there's a creed I can get behind."

I don't know what desmond levels are like, or even what ass. creed games are like in general but I know the feeling regardless. The halo games are great single player and coop games (despite the fact that they are idiots about not providing coop matchmaking).

2 howevers: I hate the alien weapons in halo. except for maybe the best alien weapon.

So, in Halo 2 when you have to play as the aliens for x levels, I just quit. That same "want to stab out my eyes" feeling. I don't know how many levels you had to play as aliens for because I simply gave up. It stopped being fun because I had to play as the alien. Which meant using their crappy weapons and/or doing a bunch of melee. Both are crap.

I guess when it comes to shooters I like stuff like Doom 1 and 2, Quake 1, 2 and 3, Halo in coop, and not much else. Portal is more like a puzzle game anyhow.

Doom 1 was KIND of a puzzle game. you had to go all over and get keys to open doors to get more keys etc etc. but its a stretch to call it a "puzzle" game.

assassin's creed is KIND of like batman arkham. outside of the first one, and maybe this last one. they are REALLY great games. if you ever decide to pick them up, watch some reviews or spoilers of the first one and start with the second. the story arc makes a pretty big jump too and the mechanics changed. so you aren't missing out. or just ask me, i can fill you in. lol.

i'm all giddy because i want to see the story in this one, but it just feels...weird. i do like how it became harder in some aspects, like keeping the templars hare meter down. (like the cops' thing in grand theft) it can really bite you in the ass in this one. and its neat being back in the stages of the first game with the new weapons and engine and abilities. but it just feels...off...

i'm sure it will all come together soon. but i will say of the "Ezio" games its my least fav.
