As I work on the first draft of the rules, I am trying to follow some of the conventions from the official LEGO® Board game instructions.

Many share the "Build", "Play", "Change" format, which seems to try to use a minimalistic approach to the rules. This will be hard to do since by definition there are some complexities to the rules for BattleBrik that are not present in the official games.

The "Build" portion is especially interesting since they generally give an overall picture of the game set up to play, and reference building instructions for the details. For example, here's Pirate Plank:

I started playing around with a little mock up of the "overview shot" of BattleBrik. :

This was a good chance for me to try out using http://ldd.lego.com/, which provides a cool way to build instructions.

you should also have a look at MLCad/LDraw ( http://www.ldraw.org/), which is what I used for these plans - since further modified
