• Android Market Renamed to Google Play.
Google has renamed the Android Market to Google Play. This seems to be a continuation in the effort to consolidate apps, music, movies and books into one experience. We have already seen market updates to pull the selling of all four together into the market apps on our devices, now the branding is being updated to match that. The app urls do change: play.google.com instead of market.android.com, although the old links are being redirected. More info from Google.

Similarly, Google is trying to tear down the walls of platform, by encouraging cross platform technologies, and combining their various gaming platforms into one label of Google Games. From this article comes the following quote from Google's Google+ Product Manager:

Punit Soni wrote:
By next year, we will not be here talking about Google+ Games, Chrome Web Store games, Games for Native Client and Android games. We will be talking about Google games.”

• Games Mag goes digital in Zinio App
I saw this originally on the Dice Tower News site that Games magazine is getting the digital treatment thanks to Zinio. While not a stand alone app, it is nice to see this piece of the gaming world be available on our phones and tablets and other electronic forms. Zinio says this is available for Android, iOS, WebOS, Blackberry, Windows 7 and Adobe Air.
