Queen Games' Rajive Gupta dropped onto the Shogun forums to quickly respond to a BGGer asking if there was a Shogun app in the works. Answer: Yes.

Square Enix Reveals RPG Card Game Guardian Cross for iOS
Square Enix has posted a teaser for its latest original mobile RPG, Guardian Cross, a new free-to-play card battler for iOS. Not much has yet been revealed about the app, but the game's new site does reveal that Hiroyuki Ito, designer of Final Fantasy V, VI, IX, XII, and Tactics, will be in charge. Final Fantasy veteran Akira Oguro will oversee character design, and Final Fantasy XI and Street Fighter Alpha composer Naoshi Mizuta will pen the music. The app is scheduled for a spring release. Fealty Submitted to App Store
Chris Cieslik posted last week that Fealty has been submitted to the App Store. We last reported that the app would see a release close to PAX East.

Combat Mission : Touch Released
And if you want to see yet another surprise release war game, then check out Combat Mission : Touch released just last night by Battlefront.com and Dromedary LLC. Battlefront specializes in war-related games, including turn-based and real-time strategies, as well simulations of air, land and naval military vehicles. Combat Mission : Touch has you to commanding American and German troops during and after the invasion of Normandy, June 1944. Game-fun and realism are mixed together for a 3D wargame experience. Combat Mission makes use of Battlefront's WeGo turn-based play mode of simultaneous planning and execution phases, combining fast paced action with the strategy of turns. Battlefront wants you to know that Combat Mission: Touch is "a true wargame, with a number of mind-blowing features that were available, until now, only on the desktop." As usual, we hope some grognards and some early adopters can weigh in here. You can check it out on the App Store.

Thunderstone AID Game Aid App Released
Last week a developer named code inversion released a game aid app named Thunderstone AID. It's described as the official utility application for the Thunderstone Board Game. It's got high res cards, a randomizer, saved setups, and purports to soon allow you to make your own print, order & play cards from the app's Card Creator. You can check it out on the App Store where it sells for $1.99.


Blocker - Challenge your friends! Released
We just learned of this recently released app which looks kind of cool. It's a two player abstract strategy game app called Blocker - Challenge your friends! released by Danish developer Groundcontrol ApS. Both the implementation and game of this app appear well done with quite a number of box-ticking features. It purportedly has a long and mysterious history of being invented and played by scientists at Los Alamos scientific labs while waiting for the results of their experiments during The Manhattan Project. Guess the Person HD Released
Developer Richard Buckingham has released an app implementation for iOS Universal based on the children's mystery face board game Guess Who?. The app has HD graphics and animated characters. You can check it out on the App Store selling for $0.99.


App Updates



Battleloot Adventure Updated
Digital Tales has updated Battleloot Adventure to version 1.0.1. The update includes IAP modifications, fixes to text display, option to turn off music and various fixes. You can check the details of either the iPhone or iPad (each sell for $0.99) app on the App Store.

Catan Updated
USM has update Catan to version 2.1.7 hot on the heels of the last update. This update fixes a sound loop bug, some stability issues, and other fixes. Let's hope USM is getting its ducks in a row for the Cities & Knights expansion which is expected this month. Check out the details of the updates to both iPhone and iPad apps on the App Store.

Cabals Updated
Kyy Games has updated Cabals to version 1.08. This update has more new cards and other bug fixes. Check out the details on the App Store.

Atoms Game Updated
Bally (not the slot machine/pinball company) has update his two player strategic board game to version 1.2. The update includes support for online matches via GameCenter and a Game Center leader board. You can check it out on the App Store.

Best Board Games Updated
We just can't help listing an app called Best Board Games that features a pack of different classics. Developer Joe Pitto has updated it to version 1.1 with new retina graphics, support for older iPhones and some more Ludo. Check out the details on the App Store.

Developer INI has made both versions of their iOS implementation of Dabble free. Dabble - The Fast Thinking Word Game is a single player affair in which the goal of the game is to spell out five separate words with just 20 letters as quickly as possible where trick is that the five words must be comprised of a two-letter, three-letter, four-letter, five-letter, and six-letter word. Get 'em now on the App Store (iPad and iPhone).

DICE+ Digital Chance Cubes Rolling Out at E3
Engadget posted this video of DICE+ being rolled with news of their release later in the year. More info will be released during E3, but apparently this little chance cube outfitted with LED backlights, anti-cheat roll detection and Bluetooth connectivity will set you back about 30-40 bones as you pay for the privilege of letting somebody roll all over your iOS, Android, Symbian, Linux and Windows device just like they would roll them across your game board. angry
