This game combines elements of boardgames and miniatures, in a system that is card-driven. Cards drive the impulses that take place during each turn, and each player has a deck of cards, made up from the troops under his or her command. Each soldier's "deck" of cards reflects abilities and traits-- perhaps about how well they shoot or how slowly they move or how attracted they are to things like fresh milk, hot food, or loot. There are some Soldiers (called "Characters") included in the base game (Day of Days) which are common, but the others in DoD and all that are purchased separately have unique characteristics (which all balance out to be "equal" according to a complex math formula which is seamless to the players). So players can only get the best out of their forces after they have learned each soldier's strengths and weaknesses. "Day of Days" includes moveable mapboard tiles, hand-painted 20mm miniatures (by FAA), scenarios, cards (several decks!) and everything needed to play. Additional Soldiers give more choices and more fun.
Notes: Map size shown does not include 1.5" border on all 4 sides
Approximate number of US/Ger soldiers is only a guide, will vary with equipment
Box indicates number of players is "1-2", but no solitaire scenarios are provided
* First Edition contained only 8 figures, the playmats were incorporated into the map borders, and it did not include the Quick Start Guide.
NOTE: Players who purchased the "First Edition" version (most obvious because it has only 8 figs instead of 10) may receive a free "upgrade" (that includes the 2 new Characters, the revised border pieces, and the Soldier playmats) with an order from Lost Battalion Games. Purchase one of the expansions (Road to Carentan, La Fiere Bridge) or a Squad bundle and tell them you have 1st edition DoD and LBG will include the upgraded components.
A mountable chit with the modifiers for every (current) tile in SMG. I use a lot of 3rd party 3D terrain that often covers up a tiles modifiers. These chits can be cut out, folded, and pasted on two sides of a counter to place on a tile when your tile's modifiers are covered. I have a separate file posted for individual modifiers. I've left it in Word.doc format should you wish to make your own modifiers.
A spreadsheet containing all pertinent soldier information for use with the Sergeants Miniatures Game.
This version also contains info on all of the current soldiers in my collection, just for your reference and perusal.
I have color coded the columns to match the soldier cards where applicable. Also, I have broken up the factions (currently U.S.A. and German) by tabs.
Tokens for LOOK/MOVE/HIDE/SHOOT in different combinations. Use them with your own 3D terrain or just to modify the stats in any hex to what you like. Word.doc allows you to change them to what you need. Print, mount, play.
Now room for 12 man squads.
Space for 75 soldiers stats.
Average stats included at bottom of sheet.
Put in your soldiers stat's and action cards data in the lower table.
Then input line ID in the top table and it will auto fill the table.
It will give your total VP's, the size of your action deck and the amount of each card and effects also chance of getting hits in the deck and a % for drawing it.
