Following along the same lines as its predecessor, Agricola: Cave Farmers is a worker placement game at heart with a focus on farming. Players will begin the game with a farmer and their spouse, and each member of their farming family will represent an action that they can take each turn. Players will be able to expand their family in a similar fashion with the same focus on running and expanding an ever-growing farm.
Agricola: Cave Farmers will be a complete redesign of Agricola that substitutes the card decks with a set of buildings and adds the ability to purchase weapons and send your farmers on quests to gain further resources. It looked very interesting, but as it's still in development Uwe told us that the game won't be published before Spiel 2012, and perhaps even later.
Agricola: Cave Farmers, seems to be a standalone Game. Uwe says that there are parts of Agricola, but there will be new ideas, especially the Cave Part of your Board, where you can build Mines and search for rubies. There will also be 2 new Animals (dogs and donkeys).
At the moment it is not sure if the Caves Theme will be Dwarfs or Humans. (Dwarfs in Caves searching in their Mines for Rubies and Gold).
There will be also Quests which you can make for extra Victory Points.
