Description Edit | History

From publisher:
Warlord is the first game to use the Reaper Adventure Game Engine (R.A.G.E. for short). As a master system, R.A.G.E. allows you to learn a few basic rules and then take this knowledge with you from game setting to game setting. Using one system for many games means that you spend less time learning and relearning rules and more time playing and painting.

In 2004, Warlord will be a brand new, fast-paced and entertaining miniatures game set in a fantasy world. Warlord figures are already known and loved - now they can be used in long running campaigns or Saturday afternoon dice-fests as players battle each other across the war torn fantasy realm of Taltos.

This beautiful, 144-page, full color hardcover rulebook for Reaper Miniatures? new game, Warlord, features the complete game rules, a 10 page painting guide, army rosters for 9 factions plus mercenary forces, rules for campaign play, a complete fantasy setting for war gaming or role playing in the land of Taltos, and player sheets and play aids for game and campaign use. Fully illustrated throughout - with art from Tim Collier, Sven Bybee, Matt Ragan, and Wayne Reynolds; a complete painting tutorial and color guide by award-winning painter Anne Foerster; dozens of game rule examples from actual games; and inspiring concept and background art for the setting, this book sets a new visual standard in game accessories. Including 16 pages of optional campaign rules, this game can be functional as a one shot game, or used in massive ongoing wars with realistic reinforcement, supply, and casualty rules, lending it a versatility rarely found in tabletop war games of the skirmish and tactical level.

Based on Reaper's Adventure Game Engine (R.A.G.E.), this new game features a fast, innovative turn sequence; unit data cards for fast reference; and Reaper's original Damage Track System for realistic game play. All units are fully customizable, with options from spells, equipment, weapons, armor, and training upgrades; so no two forces will ever be the same. Optional rules for stunts allow interaction with the terrain and other models in realistic and innovative ways.

Players can get involved in the battle for Taltos with as few as 3 models each, or as many as they wish to add. Most players will want to start with a small force of 8-15 models, and expand to 35-45 models (models not included with rulebook).
