Golem Arcana is a digitally enhanced miniatures board game focused on armies of magical Golems, the Knights who master them, and the Ancient Ones they call upon for supernatural support. Though the Golem Arcana game mechanics are deep and sophisticated, the game moves quickly and remains accessible to a wide audience due to the TDI stylus and mobile app managing all of the mechanics and record keeping.
Players create armies including Golems, Knights, Ancient Ones, and Relics, seeking a combination of attributes and abilities to suit their individual play styles or tactical preferences. While the Golems and Relics are represented by physical game pieces and cards, the Golem Knights, Blood Knights, and Ancient Ones are digital units supplied through the app.
The Golems are your basic units, the body of the army itself. Relics are special equipment and constructs that can be carried into battle to help change the tide of war. A Golem Knight or Blood Knight is assigned to a specific Golem to customize its attributes or abilities through passive or active Knight abilities. Ancient Ones are assigned to the army as a whole, and provide powerful Blessings, Curses, and Miracles when the player “sacrifices” mana.
Players stage their selected armies on the game map formed by the terrain tiles, and engage in one of a number of possible scenarios, including Last Man Standing, King of the Hill, and Victory Points/Missions. Using a turn-based Action Point system, players maneuver their Golems, call down blessings and curses, and assault the enemy until one player emerges victorious!
The Base Game Set includes six modular, double-sided terrain tiles to form the board, six fully painted and assembled Golem figures (40mm+ tall) with corresponding Golem cards, a TDI stylus, two 10-sided dice, two Control Cards, and a Quickstart Rules and Lore book.
The Golem Arcana app, which is a free download, is pre-loaded with a starting set of digital units including several Ancient Ones, Blood Knights, and Golem Knights. Additional Knights and Ancient Ones will be available for purchase to further expand and customize the player's army options. The app also supports up to eight players in a single game on one device through included multiplayer scenarios and a Scenario Creator that lets you generate your own. Additional figures from expansions are needed to play with more than two.
In addition to the Base Game Set and Golem Arcana app, there are several expansions which will enhance a player’s strategy by introducing new golems for more varied army building, as well as allowing new tactical and performance options through Relic cards, game tokens, and additional terrain tiles.
“Blood, Bloodlines, and Golems are the materials from which history is built.”

The Great Khan is dead and the world of Eretsu is at war. While the Khan’s heirs vie for control of the Gudanna Dominion he forged, the Durani Empire, unchanged and unchallenged for almost a thousand years before The Khan conquered its southern provinces, moves with surprising speed to recapture its former lands.
From the Tel Najar to the Great Gardens, the ground quakes beneath the feet of monstrous Golems marching off to battle. Arcane titans crafted from bone, branch, stone, and blood, the fearsome Golems stand in the forefront of the rival armies.
Teaches the crafting of Golems from precious stones and minerals. The Golems of Arcanum Durani are typically heavily armored and employ powerful ranged attacks to besiege and wear down enemies. This arcanum is fielded exclusively by the Durani Empire.
Teaches the crafting of Golems from the soil of the earth and the blood of the fallen. The Golems of Arcanum Gudanna move fast and strike hard. They are well-suited to hit-and-run warfare. This arcanum is fielded exclusively by the Gudanna Dominion.
Teaches the crafting of Golems from the bones of the dead. The Golems of Arcanum Urugal are blunt instruments, built to withstand punishment while battering their opponents into the dirt. This arcanum is fielded by the Urugal clans scattered across Eretsu.
Teaches the crafting of Golems from living things. The Golems of Arcanaum Zikia are tailor-made for ambush tactics, using an array of special abilities to surprise and defeat their enemies. This arcanum is fielded by the countless tribes of Zikia across Eretsu.
When Jahnu Khan rediscovered the Arcanum Gudanna, he knew he had found a potent weapon. Spreading its teachings among his people, Khan quickly assembled a massive army built of sorceror blood and sand. Raiding across the lands of Eretsu, Jahnu Khan quickly subdued a broad swathe of land before setting his sights on the ancient and revered Durani Empire. Meeting his greatest rival on the battlefield at Rue, Jahnu Khan soon proved the devastating strength of his Gudanna army. When the Durani chose to sue for peace, and his Dominion secured through a combination of treaties, marriages, and bloodshed, Jahnu declared himself the first Great Khan and began to enrich his kingdom through heavy tributes demanded from the few lands not under his direct control. The sudden death of the Khan through his Gudanna Dominion into turmoil, as a power struggle began to develop between his many heirs, even as the dormant Durani Empire began to reawaken to the indignities it suffered at the hands of the Khan. The Gudanna Dominion now stands on the brink of being torn asunder from both the internal political intrigue and the pressures of war renewed on its borders.
Ancient, powerful, resolute. These are words often associated with the millennium-old Durani Empire. Though the tribes and city-states at its borders remained turbulent and unruly, the lands governed by the Durani Emperor were an example of law and order for all of Eretsu to behold. There were none who could compare to the Durani in unity or might. That was before the Battle of Rue. Jahnu Khan’s Gudanna raiders unseated the Durani Empire from its long-standing position as the greatest kingdom in the world. The Khan’s relentless attacks also served to expose weaknesses caused by the Durani’s complacent military and class inequality between the upper and lower halves of the empire. The latter was addressed through the unprecendented elevation of a commoner, Sudhamra, to the title of Raja over the lower empire. Soon after the Khan’s sudden death, the Durani addressed the complacency of its army by mobilizing en masse to strike back in revenge against the Gudanna Dominion, seeking redress for the humiliations suffered at Rue and the ongoing humiliation of buying peace with the Khan through tribute. Tensions still stand between the affluent upper empire and the commoner-led lower empire, but both halves remain united for now in their efforts to push back the Gudanna Dominion and reclaim the empire’s former glory.
Caught between two warring sides in the bloodthirsty conflict between the Gudanna Dominion and the Durani Empire, countless Zikia and Urugal tribes have no kingdom of their own to fight for. Instead, they find themselves caught up in the bloodshed by hiring themselves out as mercenary units paid for and fielded by the highest bidder. Rather than a unified coalition of mercenaries, these so-called Mercenary Kings are a fractured bevy of of professionals with varying skillsets, whether they serve as scouting parties, or raiding troops, or frontline battle-hardened veterans. These hired warriors can be found on both sides of the battlefield, often even fighting one another, depending on the fates of war and the weight of a purse. Though these Urugal and Zikia bands fight for the Durani and the Gudanna, they maintain a certain level of pride in their independence from the political giants, and set themselves apart from the tribes who are under the Dominion’s and Empire’s control. Some even scorn the Gudanna and Durani, though for now they satisfy themselves with taking coin and other bounties from their employers in exchange for their temporary loyalty.
First box is for Relics and Control Cards; second is for all of your Golems. Alternatively, you can store Golems separately by Arcanum using either of two different sets of Arcanum-specific boxes.
Cutting and folding should be fairly self-explanatory. Faint lines are included to aid in folding but are not really visible once folded. Recommended to print on cardstock at Actual Size.

In depth spreadsheet. This spreadsheet is organized for someone that is building an army. The Golems are organized by faction with all available golems to that faction. Then the Knights are organized in a way that if you know the faction click on that tab then look for the golem class size and Arcana of that golem and it will show you all the available knights for that particular Golem depending on the faction you chose. This is exactly like the app, so it will show the same knights as the app does. I added in all the Relics and Ancient Ones as well. The last sheet is a Army builder page good for 500 point armies. What I did was print all these sheets and put them in a binder with divider tabs breaking up each sub-section. Makes building armies a breeze. I think it is much...
This character sheet can be used to play the tabletop part of the game without the stylus and app.
The sheet has two character sheets, one above the other. We fold the character sheet in half to save table space - with the extra notes on the back side.
This is the latest version of the spreadsheet, containing everything released up to this point, as well as the advance-released and promo Kickstarter golems and relics.
In this version, I have taken the great suggestions made by others here of combining all Golems onto one page, and marking their faction.
Knights have ALSO been combined into one page.
One caution concerning the knights: I am now taking the Knight info directly from the HBS site, and it currently appears to be slightly out of date. At least, im seeing numerous name changes and knight tweaks/differences between the site and the app. Im fixing them where I see them, but there are undoubtedly some discrepancies.
Also, due to the ever-changing nature of this game/app, point values and the like are constantly...
