Players compete to build the best outpost. They must build and staff factories to produce resources which are then used to build more factories and purchase any of 13 outpost improvements which give different advantages (ranging from production technologies, resource storage, and increased population maximums to resource producing stations). Improvements are purchased through auctions, and each player may win several per round. There are 3 phases in the game, and with each phase after the first a new set of improvements are available to purchase. Each staffed factory and improvement is worth a certain number of victory points (ranging from 1 pt for an ore factory to 20 points for a moon base) and the first player to reach 75 points wins.
Some colony improvement cards are really factories (e.g. Scientists). Stronghold's new version of Outpost provides double size factory tiles to put in place of the cards. The hope is that this will make it easier to distribute resource cards correctly.
I thought this was a great idea, so I designed some for my original Outpost game for all the factory colony improvements. I added some research factories similar in style to the Beelzebub files for Ore, Water, and Titanium.
The file will fit on a single sheet of 8.5"x11" or A4 paper. I printed it to sticker paper, put the sticker on poster board, and then cut up the poster board accordingly. Just printing directly to card stock should work as well.
Inspired by Scepter of Zavandor: replacement turn order cards with a bonus or penalty for auction payments (depending on the current Era and the turn order). Just bid as normal, then add the bonus / penalty to the final bid.
