Description Edit | History

Billed as the Official Game of the United States Auto Club this is one of Avalon Hill's early Sports Illustrated Games. On an oval track you can run up to 33 cars. Each car has its own driver card from the drivers of the time. Ongais, Foyt, Unser, Sneva, Mears, Rutherford etc, all of the biggies are included.

Each driver card has 6 tables on the back. For moving you chose whether you are going to drive normally, charge or back off and roll 2 dice on the appropriate table. The result will tell you how far you can move or if you have car trouble. There are 2 trouble tables that can slow you down or knock you out of the race. There is also a pit stop table which controls how many turns you must sit at the pits before leaving.

The game is driven on Stats and can be played solitaire.

4 2008 Driver Performance Card Fronts
2008 Driver Performance Card Fronts that can be used for any card set by changing the year. This design has the numbers at the corners, the USAC & Indy Logos and the year in the middle. This is a Powerpoint file so it is easy to change the year.

Using the data and graphics from Greytux I added a few graphics and re-arranged everything. The numbers are very visable on front and back. I think the cards are very useable and attractive. The car graphics have the number used in the race. The cards have the number of the starting position, 1 -33 which corresponds with the numbers on the plastic cars. Its a Powerpoint File so you can easily change the numbers if you prefer. Use my card fronts to increase ease of use and visual appeal.

Play aid allowing you to use an Excel spreadsheet as the game board. I could not have the game out for multiple sessions as I have a 3-year-old running around but I wanted to play again using the 2005 cards Chemik posted. This is the solution I used. It's worked pretty well for me.
