Description Edit | History

The PASSWORD game is based on the old TV Game Show from the 60's and 70's. There were many editions printed - starting in 1962. Each edition featured a different set of words (although later anniversary editions used words from previous sets). The object is for one teammate to get the other teammate to say the password given a series of clues. Each time a clue is given, the other player can guess the password. If they get it right the team scores. If they get it wrong, the other team gets to try a clue word. It goes back and forth: the score you get is higher if you guess it on the first clue, reduced by one point for each incorrect guess. As a clue-giver you can only say one word (non hyphenated) so you need to find the "definitive" clue.

More Information Edit | History

Milton Bradley sold two million copies of the first edition of Password. In contrast, it took Scrabble three years and Monopoly twenty five years to sell one million units.

0 Password list v1.1
Password list v1.2 An Excel spreadsheet featuring 3,000 Passwords, from "abacus" to "zucchini". Each word has a random number next to it so you can shuffle the list. To do that, click any number in column A, then click either Sort icon. It's easy to add your own words to the list. Just follow these steps: 1. Type the words you want to add into column B. 2. Click the last number in column A. 3. Put the cursor on the little black square in the lower-right corner of the cell pointer (that's the heavy outline around the active cell), then drag it straight down next to the last word you entered. If you've done it right, all the numbers will have changed, and new numbers will appear next to the words you've entered.
