Description Edit | History

Knots is an easy-to-learn path-building game. The object is to create a continuous rope from one side of the playing board to the other, while trying to prevent your opponent from completing his own rope connecting the other two sides. The catch is, many of the ropes splice together, allowing both players to build onto the same rope-path!

Components:

  • 1 set of rules (2 separate pages and 1 errata card)
  • 1 four-piece jigsaw-style game board
  • 1 bag for holding tiles
  • 40 game tiles illustrated with rope lines

There is a more detailed version of the rules online in French. Google translate results in ...:

"Number of Players: 2 Duration: 20 minutes Translated from the French by Jean-Marc Tribet

It is a strategy game for 2 players. Each trying to connect two opposite edges of the tray with a string ( first player to connect the northern edge of the southern edge while the second will connect the East to the West). Once the small puzzle board mounted, there is more than draw three tiles at random from the bag. Throughout the duration of the Thurs each player always has three tiles in hand. We choose the first player (say heads or tails). Each turn the players place a tile on a space free board and draw a new one in the bag to always have three in hand. The orientation of floorboards of the plateau is a pure delusion designer and no way prevents a tile guide a different meaning ... Once a path connects two sides the game is over. Note 1: Some tiles finish a rope while merging two. The rope can be merged used in the sense that we want, so it is possible that the two players involved on the same string in somewhat different goals. Note 2: In case of a tie, a tie variant allows players must bring it to 36 tokens (coins are nicely). Each turn players can perform at a tile having no token, a rotation of one quarter, three quarters or half a turn before asking over a token. If after this rotation, a link is created between the edges, we have a winner all found, otherwise 36 chips when they were played and removes all again ... In brief ... All that being well many words to explain a simple little game here is a more concise rule: • Mount the game board represents a 6 by 6 square which (we will not care orientation drawings of pretty little tray that we will cover ropes). • The goal is to connect two opposite edges, each pair of edges is assigned to a player • Players are always 3 cards in hand, dig after game is to lay a tile an empty tray. The first to connect to won • In case of a tie, read Note 2, or play Wiz War!"
