Description Edit | History

This game is a remake of the 1984 classic that was part of Milton Bradley's Gamemaster Series. In this game you are one of many Roman generals vying for power in Imperial Rome, employing legions, cavalry, and catapults to reach your objectives.

This version of the game has two sets of rules, one set similar to the original version (except that it has fixed the broken catapult rules) and a new set of rules based on Martin Wallace's Struggle of Empires.

10 FAQ for CotE Classic - official FAQ
This particular FAQ is an small collection of all the "official" Q&A I was able to assemble from several official sources. It is not very extensive, but should answer many if not all of the questions players might have when playing CotE Classic.

17 FAQ for CotE II - an extensive official FAQ
This particular FAQ is an extensive collection of all the "official" Q&A I was able to assemble from several official sources - including e-mail and forum responses from the game designer and/or Eagle Games. I would like to point out that some of the official answers to the questions in this FAQ contradicts what some gaming forums and/or groups have said or documented. This official FAQ also contradicts some frequently asked questions as well as at least one unofficial game summary sheet.

4 COTE - Generais variant rules
This is a full new set of variant rules and materials for COTE in 17 parts. It includes the rulebook, two sets of player-aids, a modified version of the board and 109 new cards (48 province cards, 15 objective and 40 strategy cards). The new board has 48 provinces and is divided into regions (Risk-style) with the correspondent objectives and province cards. There are also economic-oriented objectives that can be freely chosen. The gameplay is more dynamic and intends to avoid having to wait too long until your turn. Among other things, these rules also brings slaves in the game and a special figure: the assassin. All the files are in portuguese. EDIT: The english rulebook can be found...
