From the box:
"The fun begins when you place your hand-carved animal token on A and roll the dice. Can you name a bird beginning with A? That's easy - Albatross. A flying start and you're on to a B. This time you have to name a fish. Barracuda swims to mind. So far so good! But as in nature there are perils as well as rewards. can you tackle the tricky alpha question? Will a wild card lead to delight or dismay?"
The object of the game is to move through the letters of the alphabet from A to Z, naming different types of birds and animals as you go (the rules contain a suitable list for reference purposes). The dice is used to determine which category of animal you have to name for the appropriate letter your piece is on.
1 - Mammal
2 - Fish
3 - Bird
4 - Reptile or Amphibian
5 - Insect, spider or crustacean
6 - Any category
At various stages in the game players are required to draw an "alpha card" which will either be a question (classified as either easier or harder) or a Bonus! (advance to...) or a Danger! (move back...).
The first player to get to the center of the board and correctly answer an "alpha card" question is the winner.
