Trivia for People Who Don't Know Stuff!
Not a trivia buff? It doesn’t matter! Each player writes a guess to a question such as “In what year did the bikini swimsuit makes its first appearance?” or “How many feet wide is an NFL football field?” and places it face-up on the betting mat. Think you know the answer? Bet on your guess. Think you know who the experts are? Bet on their guess. The closest answer pays out according to the odds on the betting mat. Strike it big and you’ll be cheering like you just hit the jackpot!

Wits & Wagers is a trivia game that lets you bet on anyone’s answer. So you can win by making educated guesses, by playing the odds, or by knowing the interests of your friends. It can be taught in 2 minutes, played in 25 minutes, and accommodates up to 20 people in teams.

Wits & Wagers Game Show events are hosted by North Star Games at Origins and GenCon. These team events have gotten great buzz from Alan Moon, Tom Vasel, and hundreds of others. You can check out the pictures on their website.

0 Christmas Trivia for Wits and Wagers
WitsAndWagersCmas.pdf
6 print and fold cards containing a total of 30 Christmas-themed questions for a few rounds of Holiday W&W action. James Hemsley (Iceberg1) created the content, I just formatted it, and included instructions so you could potentially create the cards without seeing the answers, and thereby disqualifying yourself from play.
5 Wits and Wagers Christmas Trivia v 1.0
Wits and Wagers Christmas Trivia.doc
I have taken some of the questions from the Christmas Trivia forum thread and put them into this list. There are also a lot of other trivia questions from around the internet. Enjoy and Merry Christmas!
0 Wits & Wagers Rules & Brief Rules by Liumas
Wits & Wagers Rules & Brief by Liumas.pdf
The complete rules on a page and 2 copies of a much shorter ‘brief rules’ on a 2nd page. I'd like to edit these once more, but this way it's in time for the holidays.
1 Tuckbox for Cards (2nd Edition)
Wits & Wagers Tuckbox v2.pdf
I don't know if the 1st and 2nd edition cards are identical, but this tuckbox definitely works with the 2nd-edition cards. The box was made with the assistance of the Super Deluxe Tuckbox Template Maker at http://www.cpforbes.net/tuckbox/tuckbox.cgi and some of the images available here at BGG.
1 Wedding themed questions for use in W&W
W&W wedding shower questions.doc
MS Word file containing 14 wedding-themed questions (enough for two Wits & Wagers games), appropriate for use during wedding showers, etc. These questions are all formatted for Wits & Wagers (that is, the answers are numbers). These questions are researched at the "found on the internet" level of sourcing - enough for fun, but I'm not providing specific reference sources as are in the actual game questions.
1 Travel 2nd Ed. Wits & Wagers Board
wits & wagers board.doc
Print out & tape the 2 sheets together to make the board; just add the Wits & Wagers question cards and it makes a very light, packable Wits & Wagers kit. To play: use 2 unique betting tokens for each player (e.g. different coins, chips or stones), scrap paper to submit guesses, and keep score with paper & pencil. No rule changes needed.
9 Wits & Wagers for Large Groups
W&W Game.xls
Holding a large gathering where you want to play Wits & Wagers? Well, here is a spreadsheet for running the game for large teams on a projection screen. Supports play for 3 to 7 teams. You will need Excel 2003 or later, a projector and the Wits & Wager game. The user can enter Questions from the game or customize them for the group, but is really meant for the latter. The spreadsheet includes Questions for several themes, but you can easily add your own. Instructions are provided in the spreadsheet, but if you have questions or suggestions for improvement, please let me know. Notes and disclaimers: 1. This spreadsheet is intended to be used in conjunction with the awesome Wits & Wager board game by North Star Games and a projector to support large group play. The pens and dry erase cards are needed for play (or can be replaced with pen and paper/large dry erase board). 2. The resolution of the projector should be set to 1,024 by 768 pixels. Higher resolutions work too, but you will need to set the Zoom (View-Zoom) to an appropriate level so that you can still see the red rectangle around this page. You will need to do the same Zoom value for each page. 3. You may not use this program in conjunction with any event that charges an admission fee without first getting permission from North Star Games. Please contact Dominic Crapuchettes at 301-493-4331 or dominic@northstargames.com. This includes raising money for a charity (although permission will surely be granted). 4. Many thanks to North Star Games for making such a great game and allowing the use of the Wits & Wagers questions and concepts for this spreadsheet! 5. This spreadsheet is version 1.2, created by Bruce Bridges and uploaded on 3/14/08. 6. This version fixed a bug where scores were not updating for certain question sets with fewer than 5 players. Also, betting rules were updated.
