Description Edit | History

You're a daring explorer racing through the jungle, trying to be the first to send the golden monkey statue flying from its hiding place. But the monkeys have set seven treacherous traps to knock you off track. Suddenly there is a rumble in the jungle as a boulder crashes down from the treetops. Look out... if you're the one in its path! Will you escape? Or will you be the one to reach the treasure first? Whatever happens, watch your step and remember - if you hear a rumble in the jungle, then trouble is never very far away!

Ages 5+.

In this game, player try to get to the middle of the board while avoiding the traps. The traps are set off when the Wheel of Doom is turned a certain number of times; the wheel is turned when a player lands on the proper space.

More Information Edit | History

The Traps

Central to the game are the Seven Treacherous Traps, all triggered in some way after a player gets to crank the Wheel of Doom. Most traps are triggered by a boulder (ball bearing) rolling down the bamboo chute after the Wheel of Doom lifts it from the bottom of Elephant Pass to the Palm Tree. The traps in order are:

1
The Giraffe Watering Hole

The boulder rolls over the giraffe's tail, causing the giraffe's head to drop, striking any explorer at the Watering Hole.

This trap must be manually reset after having been triggered by raising the giraffe's head again.

2
The Rickety Bridge

The boulder rolls under a loose section of the Rickety Bridge, knocking off any explorer standing there.

3
The Snake Pit

This trap is triggered by every crack of the Wheel of Doom, as a fin protruding from the wheel pushes the snake's tail, causing the snake's head to knock over any unlucky explorer standing in the Snake Pit.

4
Elephant Pass

When an explorer stands on the cliff edge of Elephant Pass, a boulder running down the track will knock the explorer down to certain doom.

5
The Wheel of Doom

A monkey hanging from the wheel can swing down and strike any explorer standing in the danger zone. This is the only trap that can strike at two spaces on the board.

6
The Monkey See-Saw

When a boulder is dropped from the Wheel of Doom to the Palm Tree a monkey hanging from a leaf of the Palm Tree drops to strike the Monkey See-Saw, catapulting any unfortunate explorer standing on the other end.

This trap must be manually reset after having been triggered by re-hanging the monkey from the Palm Tree.

7
The Top of the Pagoda Steps

Any explorer on the final step leading to the Pagoda Step is vulnerable to being struck by a boulder dropped from the Wheel of Doom.
