Description Edit | History

From publisher's website:

Fields of Fire is a solitaire game of commanding a rifle company between World War II and Present Day. The game is different from many tactical games in that it is diceless and card based. There are two decks used to play. The Terrain Deck is based on a specific region and is used to build a map for the various missions your company must perform. The Action deck serves many purposes in controlling combat, command and control, various activity attempts. The units of the company are counters representing headquarters elements, squads, weapons teams, forward observers, individual vehicles or helicopters. A single game is a mission and several missions from a historical campaign are strung together for the player to manage experience and replacements. A mission can be played in about 1 – 4 hours.

This game is based on three actual campaigns experienced by units of the 9th US Infantry (Regiment) in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. “Keep Up the Fire” is the motto of the 9th Infantry (Regiment), known as the “Manchus” for their service in the Boxer Rebellion.

42 FoF Rules with More Illustrated Examples
* Chapters 1 - 3 in a single file (With page numbers) * (This file has some of the corrections suggested) I've started the creation of an extensive version of the rulebook that will contain various examples, along with a full gameplay of mission 1 of the WW II campaign. This is not a rewrite of the rules. The text is the same from the v2.1 of the rules available from the official site of the game. It is altought expanded with a plenty of examples. I've added some comments colored in blue for the examples. My goal is to help players (green, line and veterans) adding examples to almost all concepts of the game that I can using images from the vassal also available in the official site. I will also fetch the bgg.com and consinworld for questions answerd by Ben Hull and...

Allows players to print the front and back of counters in British tan for use in Normandy and Italian WW2 Fields of Fire scenarios and campaigns. Instructions for printing included. Originally based on company formation as suggestion by BGG user Kozure, updates to version 1 include: 1. Litter team counter terminology changed to "Stretcher Bearer". Added "SB" symbol from arm patch to counter. 2. Platoon commander rank should have been a full Lieutenant, now fixed to show two stars on their helmets. 3. Company HQ rank now shows proper 1940s King's Crown emblem on his helmet. 4. Company Sergeant Major now shows proper 1940s crown and wreath emblem on his helmet....

11 Terrain Card Exposed/Cover Overlay
One of the things that bugs me about FoF is the seemingly endless shuffling of markers and the resulting high stacks of counters. This file is intended to make a small contribution to reducing this 'counter waltz'. The file is a simple overlay that comprises a 2x2 matrix of Exposed versus Cover. Instead of using chits to make these statuses just put the unit in the appropriate box. Print the file on transparent media at 100%, cut out and place in front on a terrain card in a suitable card sleeve or protector.

14 FoF Counter-Based Control Aid
This is a modification I made on a design by Chick Lewis and frankgallagher, which allows for using simple counters to allocate commands, saved commands, and turns. Counters numbers, and the colors I'm using. 8 Green 8 Purple 1 Blue The process is pretty simple: - There are 3 columns for each unit: Unit, Activated, Allocated. - Start with all counters in the Units column for each. - As a unit gets activated, move the counter into the middle Activated column. - Once commands have been drawn for each unit, move the unit's counter to the right to show the number of commands. - When unit is finished with it's commands, place another colored counter on the remaining commands to show the Saved Commands. - Place the unit's counter into the Allocated column. The board includes...

1 FoF Action Deck for FileMaker FP7 v1.0.2
Version 1.0.2. This is a FileMaker Pro FP7 database File. It has been specifically formatted for FileMaker Go 11 for iPhone, but will work with the iPad version, as well as any desktop version of FileMaker Pro 7.0 thru 11.0. It is not currently compatible with FileMaker Pro 12.0 or FileMaker Go 12. This file, when used with one of the above compatible versions of FileMaker, allows for drawing of action cards and quick reshuffling.

4 Turn Summary Track
A slice of paper with the turn secuence summary (for defensive and offensive/patrol missions). I use it moving the "current activity" counter from square to square. And i record the # turn putting a counter in a cup (but be creative, please) This file is a evolution of the Chris Dorrell's "FoF Turn Summary Record Sheet". i found this sheet indispensable, but i want to save paper. Thanks to him. i hope you found it usefull.
