Description Edit | History

This classic title from Avalon Hill uses many elements which come together to form a very interesting game. Players take on the roles of space traders who move their ships through interconnected systems discovering new alien worlds to trade with. As players start to make money delivering commodities in a very unique supply and demand system, their earnings can be used to purchase better ships and equipment (shields, etc...), or to buy ports and factories (which create better commodities). Variations included in the rule book allow for inter-player combat. Players may select between a series of victory conditions, but in the normal game, the player with the most cash takes the day.

5 Merchant of Venus Teaching Notes (v1.1)
A slight adjustment to version 1.2, regarding movement. Teaching Notes 1.0 indicated it’s ok to stop at any designated orbit spot, even if you have movement points remaining and there is no spaceport there yet. I carried that information through in my 1.1 and 1.2 versions, but (now that I have obtained and skimmed through the full rules again) I'm pretty sure the original rules do not allow it. Version 1.3 makes this clear.

2 Corrected file "MoV Counters 4 front v2" from Darthkadan's MoV redesign
The front sides of the Laser chits were showing a wrong price in Darthkadan's original file "MoV Counters 4 front v2.pdf". I took the liberty and edited that page into a PNG file for your convenience.

4 Green Taters Variant
This file includes rules, a market card and counters that replace the Taters (i.e. ?) placed at the start of the game. This makes 2 basic changes to the game: - Shields, Red & Yellow Drives are no longer always available. They are included as Relics, that must be discovered under ? markers. - Like Ersatz Relics, once any Relic is found, equipment that matches the function of the relic (but takes 1/2 a hold, one piece of equipment may be installed on the Hull) becomes available for purchase at either the Bioengineer (leaf) or Metaphysical (eye) systems. There are now 14 relics in play. The new ones are: - Blue Drive - Shield -10 - Galactic Positioning System (allows any # to be used as a pilot #) - Space Generator (adds an extra hold to the ship) - Some of the other relics have been changed in price.

19 Common backs for custom MoV currency
A full sheet of tiled common backs for use with the custom MoV currency. This design prints edge to edge on the back of the bills and is designed so that if your front-to-back registration is a little off, it won't matter very much.

15 Lost Planet variant (version B)
A different version of the Lost Planet variant. This time, the Wraith culture is in a fixed location in the Lost Planet system--but the location of the system itself is variable (lost) and must be discovered first. Everything needed to play is in this file--no need to download version A and combine.

12 Lost Planet variant (version A)
Roberto Ullfig's Lost Planet variant for MoV. Adds a new fixed-location system and a 15th culture (and all the goods, demands, fares, etc that go with it). This version fixes a boo-boo on the back page where a tile was overlapping the others.
