Each player deals and controls his or her own 52 card deck including a 13 card "Nurtz" pile. This pile must be depleted of cards in order to win a round of play.
25 points are tallied for calling "Nurtz!" (when a player eliminates all of their 13 card pile). Opponents subtract the number of cards left in their "Nurtz" pile from the total number of cards which each contributed toward the center playing area.
The winner is the person with the highest overall score after nine rounds.
