Description Edit | History

A game which is often described as a semi-sequel to Civilization.

Players attempt to build up their cultures during the Middle Ages and Renaissance period. The game features a card deck that holds events, payout cards and famous leaders of the particular eras. Although all cards will turn up somewhere during the game, the timing and position in which they will be played is crucial and will ensure a different game every time.

The main goal of each city-state is to gain points in the form of technical advances while keeping their cultures misery level as low as possible. The payout structure is similar to those of Civilization and Advanced Civilization in that more resources of the same type yield increasingly higher payouts. This time particular payouts are triggered by card play for every player at once. An ingenious and very smooth working “combat” system is implemented to determine province – and thus resource - control.

4 AoR Eurochanges Map
This map has three of the four Eurochanges. It adds the Loire province. It shows Novgorod's spread into Smolensk (making the two provinces into one). It has the London-Chester border change. Enjoy.

19 AOR Player Mat by Liumas
Good game aids makes this game simpler and quicker. Print 1 copy for each player. Nice and subtle changes over the prior version (the older 2008-09 version is not broken; it will still work well and may be preferred by some). This file includes a new 2nd page to mark off cards which have been played; use this with either version of the mat.

15 AOR Advances by Liumas 2008-09
This PDF includes a complete advance reference, intended for printing on a single double-sided page. Print 1 or 2 copies for the group to share. UPDATE 2010-10: This version is designed to print properly back-to-back with no offset. There are some tiny cosmetic-only changes also, but if you are happy with the copy you have printed then don't bother printing this new version.
