Fans often call it "Axis and Allies on Steroids". The rules and mechanics are similar enough to Axis and Allies, but there are a few differences and additions. The game, like Axis and Allies, covers the entire war from a strategic level with areas corresponding mostly to countries, with larger countries broken down. The map is a gargantuan 4' x 8' with eight major powers dividing up the non-neutral world (Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, UK, USA, China, and France)
I was looking for a quick reference sheet to use when teaching this game, and General Nimsim came through for me by providing a Word doc he had created with a pretty complete listing of rules in it. I reformatted it and was able to shrink it down to 8 pages. Not exactly a quick reference doc, but I find it a little easier to find rules in here than in the original rulebook. Hope it helps some of you too.
It helps to have a laptop nearby when playing this game to keep track of the countries controlled, units purchased, etc. I felt the spreadsheet from the game's website was a little slow to use and didn't cover everything I needed to run the game, so I created this new version of the spreadsheet. Hopefully some of you find it useful.
