First to Fight is a simulation game on the German blitzkrieg invasion of Poland in September 1939, the event that ignited World War II in Europe.
First to Fight is a two player game, with one player representing the German high command and the other the Polish high command. The German player must crush Poland in a lighning campaign. Speed is essential - the outcome must be settled quickly in order to shift troops west in time to forestall or defeat a French offensive on Germany's western border. The Polish player must successfully defend Poland or, failing in this, at least hold out long enough to disrupt the German timetable for conquest. Both sides maneuver their forces and conduct combat in an attempt to achieve these goals.
This is the second installment in GRD's Collectors Series™ of The Europa Series games. There were two editions of this game printed in 1991 and 1999.

I admit my sources are not exhaustive ("The Polish Campaign 1939" by Zaloga and Madej, "Case White" by W. Russ), but this could provide a starting point for further refinement by anyone interested. Using the information available to me, I do not claim the deployment of brigade-size units and below are anywhere near accurate in the majority of cases, but where units are attached to corps/division-sized units I have placed them accordingly ... otherwise the rest are my attempt at a rational deployment (be it good or bad). Anyone interested in refining/correcting this setup, please geek mail me. However many errors there are in this...
