A variant that turns 1001 Karawane into less of a treasure grab, and into more of an economic trading game. The bluffing, and hidden tiles of the game are gone, but the Desert is explored through movement to find cities to trade in. The treasures of the old game now offer bonuses to movement, combat, survival.
Hopefully it'll breath new life into this underrated game, which although I loved the concept, the rules are hard to follow. I've never thought bluffing worked outside of card-games either. please comment or offer suggestions.
