This game is set in the Perry Rhodan universe, a hugely popular German space-opera book series published since 1961. The term "kosmisch" means "cosmic" whereby "Hanse" refers to the Hanseatic League, a Medieval trade network in Northern Europe. In the american translation of the book series the term "Die Kosmische Hanse" was translated as "The Cosmic House".

In this game the players take on the roles of traders who transport goods between planets. Occasionally one can carry also passengers, which brings additional yields. Players can invest in cargo space, transmitters or faster drives to improve their spaceships.

Heinrich Glumpler, the designer of the game, is a fan of Merchant of Venus, as you can see from this comment.

The artwork is by Swen Papenbrock, one of the illustrators of the Perry Rhodan book series.

This game is part of the Kosmos two-player series.

For those who find the "sun" token to be a little tricky to use for scoring, I've created a simple score card. You simply need to provide one more token for each player to mark the "10"s. To replace the original sun token, I've also created a sun card that has a brief summary of the key rules. Both cards are in a single-page PDF, and are sized to fit easily into the game box.

English Card Paste-Ups w/ Matching Graphics

These paste-ups can be printed at 100% size on a full-sheet of sticker paper, cut, and applied directly to the cards to seamlessly match the card graphics. Once applied, you can barely tell they're there! It takes a little work, but it's worth if if you want a nice looking English card set. The only cards I didn't do are the passengers as they're easily playable without any translation.

Scoring numbers for the sun

I wanted to be able to keep score of the game. These are just numbers you could put on the sun. Print on some sort of label paper (I use Avery Removable full sheet labels 3383), punch out with a 1/2" hole punch (a la Agricola resource stickers) and apply to the sun. They are matched the background so it should disappear into the background. Tell me if you find it useful! (Or even if you think it is useless!) Oh, it is at 200 dpi to match the size.)
