Jack The Ripper (1983)

Can you save London from the scourge of Jack the Ripper?

This game simulates the reign of terror over Victorian London, perpetrated by Jack the Ripper'. One player takes the role of Sir Charles Warren, the Police commissioner, and the other is the Ripper himself.

The Police player has 10 weeks to unmask the Ripper before he must resign in disgrace.

The 1st edition was published by Aulic in 1983.
The 2nd edition was published by Sleuth in 1985.
The 3rd [updated] edition was published by Sleuth in 1986.

The first Sleuth and Aulic editions appear to be identical and feature the less ornate map with all the recordkeeping aspects printed around the board edge; the 1986 3rd edition removed all the tracking info from the board and changed the board to a historical map of Whitechapel with yellow circles highlighting the Major and Minor intersections.

In addition, the rules were significantly updated for the 3rd edition to try to clarify the many vague points in the original Aulic edition [the rules appear unchanged between the 1983 and 1985 editions].
