Paper Football can also be played as a 4-player team game putting a twist of strategy and team spirit to the game.
Rules:
Team players set opposite from each other taking turns in a clockwise motion, players still play two cards a turn.
Players have only one yardage pile in front of them, instead of two. Team players add together their yardage piles to accumulate their team’s yardage total and share their down cards.
A team player can use one of their time out/challenge cards to come up with a strategy with their opponent by only looking at each other’s cards, not exchanging them. This is the only time you can talk to your opponent during the game, no board talking otherwise. When a time out is called both teams my look at their opponent's cards, But! The team that called the time out can only call time in ending the time out session immediately.
The player that completes a touch down goes for the extra point kick or 2-point conversion and the kick off return, not their opponent.
A team game goes really quick so for a longer game I suggest playing four quarters instead of two halves.
Thats the rules!
