Alea evangelii is from the TAFL family of games. The original name of the game is unknown. Alea evangelii is the first words of the twelfth-century Corpus Christ College manuscript 122 from Anglo-Saxon England which contains a description of the game. The game is believed to represent a naval battle and is played on a 19x19 game board.
