FAQ
Question: Can I start more than 1 space behind the start line?
Answer: Yes, you can. (But you must still pass the start line).
Question: Can I turn my boat 2 sides (120 degrees)?
Answer: No
Question: I moved my boat. Can I turn it 60 degrees now?
Answer: No! Your boat ends its move pointing in the direction it moved to. Use this rule clearly. Some players may develop the habit of turning their boat after their move, but that will lead to mistakes during the game.
Question: Can I add or remove more than one die?
Answer: No.
Question: Can I keep my speed (dice) the same: no extra die, no die removed, no dice roll?
Answer: Yes, you can. Don't change your gear and don't move your foot on the gas... In theory, when you have 1 die and it is a '1', you can hold that the whole race and don't risk crashes. If you have a sight-seeing tour boat. Then you will lose, unless the other boats sink.
Question: How many dice can I use?
Answer: No limit! (That was the name of the prototype game.)
Your color area for your dice has 5 dice spots, which is normally enough. But you may reach 6 or more dice. Rare!
Question: Can I roll dice more than once during my turn?
Answer: No. Maximum 1 dice-roll per turn.
Question: I see a good place for a 'gentle' crash on land (or a buoy). Can I crash there?
Answer: Only if that is at the end of your boat's longest possible path through water spaces.
You must go in a direction where you don't crash. If you would crash in each direction, then you take the longest path, so that your boat gets the minimum damage. No kamikaze pilots!
Question Can you go down to zero dice? And if you do, can you still turn your boat 60 degrees, even though you stay in the same hex?
Answer Yes (if you had only 1 die), and yes you can.
