Stratego (Revised Edition) (2008)

This game is a revision and update of the classic game of Stratego.

The game is similar to Classic Stratego where the purpose is to capture the enemy's flag after secretly placing your units.

Many of the basic rules are the same, but the revised edition includes new graphics and components, and new powers for many of the pieces.

Stratego: Revised Edition is set in a fantasy setting with pieces like Dragons, Dwarves, and Elves replacing the Napoleonic soldiers. One player is the Fire (Red) Army from Volcandria, and the other player is the Ice (Blue) Army from Everwinter (which is why this game is commonly known by the nickname Stratego: Fire & Ice).

Stratego: Revised Edition has a smaller board (8 x 10 vs. 10 x 10), and fewer pieces (30 vs. 40) than Stratego, but there are special movement and attack rules for most of the pieces.

There are two rules sets: the rules of Classic Stratego with the special powers removed from the pieces (but with fewer pieces on a smaller board), or the main ruleset played with the special powers printed in the rules and on the gameboard.
