In CLOVIS players represent hunter-gatherer bands of North America in 12,000 B.C. Players send out hunting parties to kill big game. This earns players points. Players may increase the numbers in their bands thus allowing them to kill more big game. There are specialty cards that modify the regular flow of things as well. The big game grow extinct as the game progresses. The game starts with 8 big game cards available in round 1 and only 1 big game card available for the final (8th) round.

This is the revamped, updated rules for Clovis. Updated 10.26.09, this version includes an extra animal (the cave bear) and implements an idea i've been working with for a few months that includes a Sabertooth den. The sabertooth cards now have a value of only 1 and are added to the sabertooth den whenever they are drawn. The cards inthe den may not be hunted but are an end game bonus awarded to the player who hunted the most dire wolves.
The new rules also implement the usage of the newly designed spear cards. Each band has their own set of spear cards. This makes the whole hunting and resolving matter much cleaner and less confusing.
